What's new?
We're pleased to announce the latest release of Access Tonic, which includes the updates below:
Pre-sale functionality for Checkout v2
We're excited to introduce pre-sale support in the new checkout, giving event organisers the ability to offer exclusive early access to tickets before they go on general sale:
Event organisers can enable pre-sale on specific event dates directly from Tonic admin, generating unique pre-sale codes that can be shared with select audiences
Attendees with a valid pre-sale link are taken directly to the checkout for the designated date, providing a seamless purchasing experience
Full support for time slot selection on pre-sale events, so attendees see and choose available time slots just as they would during general sale
Pre-sale allocation tracking ensures that ticket availability is accurately maintained as codes are redeemed
Works with the embeddable Tonic Ticket Widget, automatically launching the checkout within the iframe when a pre-sale code is provided
This feature enables event organisers to run targeted early-bird campaigns, reward loyal customers with priority access, and build anticipation ahead of public ticket launches β all within the improved Checkout v2 experience.
Event Brand Widget enhancements
We've made several improvements to the Event Brand Widget to give event organisers more control and provide a better experience for attendees:
Show hidden events support
The new Event Brand Widget now respects the existing "Show hidden events" setting from the Event Brand configuration:
When toggled to YES, hidden events are now displayed in the new widget, aligning with the legacy widget behaviour
Changes to the setting are reflected immediately upon widget reload
By default, hidden events remain hidden unless explicitly enabled by the organiser
Ensures feature parity between the legacy and new Event Brand Widget
Improved preview modal
We've refined the event preview modal that appears when customers click on an event card in the widget:
The dismissal button is now labelled "Close" instead of "Cancel" for clearer navigation
Event dates now display in a more informative format: "From Day, DDth Month YYYY" (e.g. "From Thursday, 19th March 2026") when multiple occurrences exist
Provides attendees with a more intuitive and informative browsing experience
Pagination for list view on desktop
For Event Brands with a large number of events, the widget list view now includes pagination:
Events are paginated in groups of 12 for a cleaner, more manageable browsing experience
Pagination controls appear below the event list with current page and total page indicators
When 12 or fewer events are listed, the widget displays all events without pagination controls
Available on desktop, ensuring the page remains performant and easy to navigate
These enhancements collectively improve the Event Brand Widget experience for both organisers and attendees, bringing the new widget closer to full feature parity with the legacy version.
How to access this update
This release is automatically deployed on Wednesday 25 March 2026 to all our customers along with a package of bug fixes and performance improvements.
