8 May 2026 release notes

Written by Dan Turic

What's new?

We're pleased to announce the latest release of Access Tonic, which includes the updates below:

Google Tag Manager event tracking on the new checkout

The following events are now tracked throughout the checkout journey:

  • view_item_list β€” fires when a user views the available ticket types for an event occurrence, giving organisers visibility into how many users are browsing their ticket options

  • add_to_cart β€” fires when a user selects tickets, including when quantities are updated or items are removed. Enables organisers to measure intent and identify drop-off between browsing and payment

  • begin_checkout β€” fires when a user proceeds from ticket selection into the checkout flow

  • purchase β€” fires on successful completion of a transaction, providing accurate conversion data for each sale

Each event also includes two additional parameters to support deeper analysis:

  • selected_event_date β€” the specific date chosen by the attendee, allowing organisers to understand demand by occurrence

  • dmn_reference_id β€” the unique reference for the event or occurrence, enabling accurate correlation between tracking data and bookings

Event brand widget improvements

We've made two improvements to the event brand widget calendar view:

  • Past events greyed out β€” events from the last 3 months are now displayed in the calendar in a greyed out, non-interactive state. This gives attendees confidence that an organiser has an active history of hosting events, without allowing bookings on past dates. Events older than 3 months remain hidden

  • Autoscroll to first available date β€” when the calendar opens, it now automatically scrolls to the first date that has available upcoming events, removing the need for attendees to navigate manually to find availability

Ticket modification

Event organisers can choose to enable ticket modification for their events directly from Tonic Admin, giving attendees the ability to self-serve changes without needing to get in touch.

When enabled, attendees can swap their tickets directly from their account, without needing to contact the organiser. From the Manage Tickets page, they can switch to a different ticket type or a different event date.

How to access this update

This release is automatically deployed on Friday 8 May 2026 to all our customers along with a package of bug fixes and performance improvements.
