What's new?

We're pleased to announce the latest release of Access Tonic, which includes the updates below:

Data Collection API for Access Tonic

We've introduced a powerful new API capability that enables integration partners and external systems to programmatically retrieve data collection responses directly through the Tonic API:

  • Submit checkout question responses via API - Integration partners can now capture attendee information, survey responses, and custom field data programmatically without manual entry in the checkout interface.

  • Support for all question types - The API handles all existing data collection question types including Checkbox (multiple selection), Single Choice, Yes/No, and Free Text responses.

  • Comprehensive validation - Responses are validated against configured options and requirements, ensuring data quality matches admin interface validation rules exactly.

  • Retrieve responses programmatically - A GET endpoint allows retrieval of submitted responses filtered by order or ticket ID, enabling seamless integration with external reporting and CRM systems.

  • Secure and rate-limited - The API follows existing Tonic authentication patterns with rate limiting (100 requests per minute) to prevent abuse while maintaining system performance.

This enhancement empowers integration partners to build on top of the Tonic platform, enabling automated ticket workflows, pre-filled customer data from CRM systems, and native mobile app checkout experiences. Event organisers benefit from reduced duplicate data entry, improved data accuracy through automated validation, and support for complex workflows requiring programmatic ticket management.
