Collect custom data

You can collect customer information, like dietary requirements or pre-order menu choices, during the checkout process.

Set up data collection questions

You can collect custom data from customers during the checkout process by following the steps below:

  1. From your Access Tonic dashboard, select Manage for the applicable event.

  2. In the left-hand list, select Data Collection.

  3. By 'Would you like to collect data or ask your customers questions?', click YES.

To set up questions in the Add new checkout question box, follow the steps below:

  1. Select the question type from the Type list.

  2. If you've chosen Checkbox, click +Add New Option and enter the answer options.

  3. Select any additional settings:

    • Mark question as required: The customer is required to provide an answer.

    • Apply this question to each ticket or ticket type: Apply question to the number of tickets in the order rather than just collecting an answer from the ticket purchaser.

    • Apply to a specific ticket type: The question is only asked when customers purchase a specific ticket type.

  4. Click Add Checkout Question.



Find data collection answers

You can download the data collected as either a PDF or CSV file from the Attendee List tab or Customer Data tab of the event admin.

πŸ€“β€‹Tip: If you choose to receive a purchase email confirmation when guests purchase tickets, you can also find the data collection answers at the bottom of that email.


View customer details

To view just the customer details and data collection answers, follow the steps below:

  1. On Attendees List, click Customise List.

  2. Select Show All Collected Data.

  3. Click Show by the customer's name.

  4. To download the data, click Download.


View a full breakdown

To view a full breakdown of each purchase including financials and data collection answers, follow the steps below:

  1. In the left-hand list, select Customer Data.

  2. Use the search bars to filter purchases by event dates or purchase dates.

  3. Click Download.
