Refunding in Stripe Connect

Refunding tickets or booking fees for a ticket purchase.

If you want to refund tickets for a ticket purchase, follow these steps:

Refunding the ticket amount (minus booking fee)

  1. In Access Tonic Admin, click the Transactions tab.

    • This is the black banner along the top of the screen.

  2. Search for the purchase reference number or customer email.

  3. Select the purchase, then click Refund Tickets.

  4. To issue a partial refund, deselect the purchase reference numbers you don't want to refund.

  5. Click Next, then click Confirm.

Note: This will refund the ticket price minus the booking fee, which is retained by default.


Refunding the booking fee (optional)

If you want to refund the booking fee for a ticket purchase, follow these steps:

  1. Log into your Stripe Connect account associated with your events.

  2. Locate the specific transaction for the ticket purchase.

  3. Click the Refund More option in the top right of the transaction details.

  4. Manually enter the amount corresponding to the booking fee and confirm the refund.

πŸ€“ Tip: You can also locate the refund within the Tonic admin and select Open in Stripe to be taken straight to the relevant purchase to refund the fees:

β€’ Currently, Tonic does not offer an automatic checkbox to refund booking fees during the refund process (this is planned for future updates).

β€’ Refunds of booking fees must be handled directly in Stripe if you wish to return this amount to your guests.
